Oh dear. I have missed yet another thing. I promised to post a gif everyday until Thanksgiving, and I did not yesterday. I will make up for it today, though! I promise! I will post not only yesterday and today's gifs, but I will also spoil you with a magnificent recipe for body scrub.
If you have not yet tried string art, you are missing out! I have posted string art before. For halloween, I posted skull string art. You can make it this way with a picture or you can be a bit more creative and make your own patterns. Basically, all you have to do is cut out a piece of wood as a canvas, create a pattern using nails, then twist string around the outline and then start filling in the body of the pattern with string. You could also just use an actual canvas and thumbtacks like this one. This pattern, however, is a bit more complicated because of the different, overlapping limbs. This is a perfect thanksgiving craft (especially if you have kids) because it is not only cute and decorative, but it also lets you think about what you are thankful for. Materials Needed: *Orange and green construction paper *A Stapler *Scissors Directions:
Step #1 Cut out 8 pieces of orange construction paper into 1 inch strips. You will also need to cut out 2 leaves and 2 skinny strips of green contraction paper for the vines. Step #2 Write something you are thankful for on each strip of orange construction paper. Be sure to leave about a 1 inch space on the sides of the strip so the writing isn't covered up when stapled together. Step #3 Use a stapler to attach the orange strips at the top and then at the bottom to form a pumpkin. Step #4 Add your leaves and green vines. I rolled up the green construction paper in a pencil to help curl the vines. |
